immy Adams, manager of wastewater operations for House of Raeford Farms’ Arcadia, Louisiana complex, received Wastewater Operator of the Year honors from the Louisiana Rural Water Association. Due to the COVID -19 restrictions, LRWA could not hold their annual awards luncheon, so the organization’s wastewater technician and trainer, Ken Terry, made the presentation at House of Raeford’s offices.
The LWRA established the awards program to recognize the outstanding efforts of rural water and wastewater systems and their personnel. Selected as this year’s winner, Adams and the House of Raeford team exhibited dedication to providing a cleaner environment through their wastewater management efforts in the state of Louisiana.
The Arcadia operation has significantly upgraded their wastewater facilities and equipment over the past couple of years. This includes the addition of an anoxic basin to aid in the denitrification process and help control toxicity of the wastewater discharge. In addition, the complex retrofitted the aeration system with super fine bubble diffused aerators to increase efficiency.
The modern practices and technology we have put into place at House of Raeford Farms are vital to environmental stewardship.
