The USPOULTRY Foundation recently awarded a $1,670student recruiting grant to the North Carolina A&T State University. The grant was made possible in part by an endowing Foundation gift from the Stanley & Dorothy Frank Family Foundation.
The grantwill be used to support the university’s existing poultry program within the Department of Animal Sciences, which offers hands-on research experience and learning opportunities to students as well as supports the Poultry Science Club that consistently increases student interest in the poultry industry. Funds willalso be used to help recruit students by supporting the university’s outreach activities at local high schools and fairs.
The USPOULTRY Foundation board recently approved student recruiting grants totaling $275,663to 26colleges and universities across the United States with a poultry science department or industry-related degree program. The USPOULTRY Foundation provides annual recruiting funds to colleges and universities to attract students to their poultry programs. The grants are made possible by gifts to the Foundation from companies, individuals and families, in addition to funds earned over the years fromt he International Poultry Expo, part of the International Production & Processing Expo.
