Aviagen’s ongoing goal is the strengthening of quality management systems in the interest of customers and bird health and welfare.
Effective April 19, Aviagen® has named Derrick Tice Director of Quality Assurance (QA) for North America. Based in Aviagen’s corporate office in Huntsville, Tice will report directly to the President of Aviagen North America Marc de Beer.
Tice will ensure the quality of Aviagen’s birds, from their beginning on GP farms to
the time they are delivered to customer farms. He will also collaborate with sales and
service teams and with customers, to make sure they are satisfied with healthy, highquality parent stock chicks.
Long history of excellent service to Aviagen and its customers
Tice comes to Aviagen from animal health and disease prevention company
Boehringer Ingelheim Poultry Division, where he served as U.S. Poultry Strategic
Account Manager, with Aviagen being one of his key customers. However, before
joining Boehringer Ingelheim, he served as an Aviagen employee from 2007 to 2018
as Grandparent Poultry Specialist, Quality Assurance Manager for North America,
and Grandparent Operations Manager, Alabama/Tennessee.
He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Poultry Science Management from the
University of Mississippi State (2007), and has fulfilled various duties for the
Alabama Army National Guard since 2001.
