Foster Farms Cited for Covid Violations at California Facilities

Foster Poultry Farms, Inc. in Livingston, along with four staffing agencies, was cited for not protecting employees from COVID-19.

According to the California Department of Industrial Relations, Cal/OSHA opened an inspection after being notified that an employee died from COVID-19 complications. It was also found that Foster Farms and one of its staffing agencies did not report the COVID-19 fatality in a timely manner, which is required.

Cal/OSHA opened a separate inspection at the distribution center and cited staffing agencies used by Foster Farms who were also cited for COVID-19 violations.

Foster Farms’ poultry plant was cited $103,100 for five serious violations, and the plant’s distribution center was cited $78,400 for three serious violations. Both Foster Farms and Human Bees, Inc. did not report work-related fatalities in a timely manner, resulting in regulatory violations.
