Yorkshire Valley Farms and the Guelph Organic Conference are pleased to partner
again for the 2022 Yorkshire Valley Farms Canadian Eco-Scholar Award. This year’s Award is open to students across Canada in every province and territory and offers a total of $10,000 in funding to be granted to four students. The Award is intended to provide financial support for Canadian students in any area of study, so long as they are passionate about organic agriculture practices and how they can be a force for good in our society.
The Eco-Scholar Award was first launched in 2004 by the Guelph Organic Conference. In partnership with Yorkshire Valley Farms, the Award has been expanded to provide a total give-away of $10,000, distributed as follows:
• One $5,000 first place award
• Two $2,000 second place awards
• One $1,000 third place award
To apply for the 2022 Eco-Scholar Award, students are being asked to submit a video of up to two minutes in length in which they express the role they hope to play in the organic regenerative movement. The video format gives students a chance to tell the judging panel about themselves, how they are engaged in organics, and how they intend to use their studies and actions to progress organic regenerative practices in their communities.
“We’re excited to build on last year’s Award and hopefully reach even more students now that we are running the program in all provinces and territories. This next generation of innovators and leaders will play an important role in building a resilient and vibrant sector. We know there are so many engaged, passionate students out there and want to hear their ideas,” says James Sculthorpe, CEO Yorkshire Valley Farms.
