Hy-Line International awarded Liqi An and Kuan Ling Liu with the Hy-Line International Genetic and Genomic Award at the Poultry Science Association meeting in July 2022. Dr. Janet Fulton, Senior Geneticist for Hy-Line International, presented this year’s awards. Students gave oral or poster reports related to quantitative genetics, molecular genetics or genomics research, with the possibility of two students earning up to $1,000 each.
“The award was established in 2018 by the Hy-Line International Research and Development department to promote poultry research by graduate students and to support the Poultry Science Association,” said Dr. Petek Settar, Senior Geneticist for Hy-Line International.” We are pleased to award Liqi An and Kuan Ling Liu, who demonstrated such promising research for the future of the poultry industry.”
Liqi An is pursuing a Master of Science in Animal Biology at the University of California, Davis. Her work focuses on molecular genetics, functional genomics and bioinformatics in poultry. Kuan Ling Liu is a PhD in Animal and Avian Sciences at the University of Maryland. His focus is on metabolism and nutrition.
