Tyson Foods leaders sat with the Contract Poultry Farmer Advisory Council for the first time in two years last month at the company’s headquarters in Springdale, Ark., to discuss issues important to those who grow chickens for the company. Farmers from North Carolina, Arkansas, Kentucky and Missouri met with the company executives to discuss animal welfare, commodity and regulatory teams, Tyson said in a news release. Tyson Foods has worked with contract farmers since the late 1940s; the contractors now number 3,600 independent poultry farmers in 18 states.
