In a significant announcement, the National Turkey Federation (NTF) revealed that Joel Brandenberger, with an impressive 33-year tenure, will retire on June 30. Brandenberger has held the esteemed positions of CEO and president for the past 17 years.

Expressing gratitude, NTF Chairman Steve Lykken acknowledged Brandenberger’s leadership, guiding the federation through challenging periods encompassing economic crises, disease outbreaks, and legislative upheavals affecting the turkey industry.

The NTF, recognizing the pivotal role Brandenberger played, will initiate a nationwide search to identify a new President and CEO to steer the federation into its next chapter.

Brandenberger’s journey with NTF began in 1991 when he joined as the Director of Public Affairs. Over the years, he ascended through the ranks, ultimately assuming the role of CEO in 2006. A Texas Tech University alumnus with a degree in journalism, Brandenberger brought a wealth of experience as a newspaper reporter and editor, along with insights gained from working in legislative offices.

Looking ahead, Brandenberger and his wife, Susan, plan to divide their time between their homes in Florida and Utah, marking the beginning of a well-deserved retirement chapter. As Brandenberger bids farewell, the NTF reflects on his enduring legacy and sets its sights on the future, seeking new leadership to continue the federation’s impactful journey.
