Herbrucks’s Poultry Ranch says it donated 2.2 million eggs to charities and nonprofits in Michigan and Pennsylvania in 2023.
The poultry farm, which is based in Saranac, provided the eggs to dozens of local and regional charities and nonprofits in Michigan and Pennsylvania, where the company operates Blue Springs Egg Farm. The company has given out the same number of eggs in past years.
“Each year, we are so proud to donate nutritious eggs to organizations that serve people in need,” said Amy Herbruck, community and public relations manager at Herbruck’s, said in a statement. “One of our core values is being a good neighbor to the communities we serve, and donating millions of eggs is just one way we work to improve the lives of our neighbors.”
Herbruck’s was founded in 1958 in Ionia County, and says it’s the largest egg producer in Michigan and the 10th largest in the U.S. The company has operations in Saranac, about 30 miles east of Grand Rapids, and Mercersburg, Pennsylvania. Its seven million hens produce about 10 million eggs per-day, the company says.
“We are so grateful for our partnership with Herbruck’s,” Ken Estelle, president and CEO of Feeding America West Michigan, said in a press release. “This year they provided 79,300-dozen eggs to our food bank that we used to support hundreds of thousands of families in our service area. These eggs are always in high demand as they provide a great source of protein for families that struggle with always having enough healthy food.”
