Kazakh Invest, a national investment agency in Kazakhstan, has unveiled plans for a $600 million poultry farm in the Almaty region. The state-of-the-art facility will have the capacity to process 240,000 tonnes of poultry meat, including 100,000 tonnes of sausages and delicacies.
Scheduled to commence in 2025 and be completed by 2029, the project is expected to generate approximately 6,000 jobs for the local economy. This development will make the poultry farm the largest of its kind in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), which includes Russia, Ukraine, Moldova, Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, and Kazakhstan.
The project will be managed by Aitas Holding Company, which currently operates the largest poultry farm in Central Asia and the oldest in Kazakhstan, commanding a 43% market share in the region’s poultry industry. Aitas’s existing facilities have a processing capacity of 150,000 tonnes of poultry per year and produce 80 million hatching eggs annually for broiler chickens.
Rabiga Tokseitova, Vice President of JSC Aitas KZ, stated that the raw materials for the new poultry farm will be sourced from local producers. The finished products will be distributed both domestically and internationally, enhancing Kazakhstan’s position in the global poultry market.
