Job description
As a Hatchery Worker you will work with team members fulfilling responsibilities for hatch preparation in a turkey hatchery. Your ability to handle moderate physical work along with working in a fast-paced environment will be necessary in the handling of eggs and general functional duties. The challenge of performing repetitive work and standing for extended periods of time are required to complete everyday tasks. Bringing a desire to learn the proper handling for the safety of the birds and cleaning will lead to your success in this role.
What are your main tasks and responsibilities?
- Work with team members in egg handling, hatch preparation, hatches and general clean up
- Maintain proper handling for safety of the birds
- Meet all of the operating procedures as outlined by company policy
- Shift starting times vary between 4:00 am and 7:00 am depending on hatch days
- Regular work shifts are Monday to Friday approximately 40 to 45 hours per week
Your profile
- Ability to handle moderate physical work; lifting up to 30 – 40 lbs
- Must be able to complete repetitive work and standing for extended periods of time
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and work under pressure
- Must be able to perform tasks with limited supervision
- Proven reliability in work attendance and willingness to give best effort
