Summary
This position acts as a liaison between the Nutritionist and the Company’s contract growers. They are responsible for auditing and enforcing all company standards while assisting the growers with management of their flocks.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assure growers readiness to receive chicks
- Reports minimum of four weekly bird postings during grow cycle, including day old chick posts.
- Assesses and reports on growers buildings and growing conditions
- Vaccinates birds
- Collect data including but not limited to mortality, weights, and water/feed consumption.
- Participates in grower meetings
- Gather weekly feed samples for ABF testing and communicate the quality of the feedback to the Nutritionist
- Maintains direct contact with the hatchery and the Company to communicate quality of chicks
- Communicates with growers the placement and kills dates for birds
- Provides ongoing feedback and assistance to growers to assist in managing growth and health of flocks
- Assuring compliance with all third party standards and governmental regulations
- Adhere to all biosecurity program regulations
- Assist growers with sanitation measures.
- Required to attend all departmental training sessions
- Weekly Journal to Live Operations Director & Nutritionist
- All other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to innovate, execute and involve the contract growers with passion
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Computer skills, MS Word, Excel Database, and e-mail
- Excellent attention to detail and organization skills
- Highly motivated self starter capable of working independently
- Willingness to work overtime as required
- Able to be on your feet throughout entire shift
- Ability to operate equipment safely and effectively
- Ability to work outside in all kinds of weather and inside in a warm, humid, environment containing a slight chicken odor
- Ability to handle dead birds and perform gross necropsy
- Possess valid driver’s license
Education and/or Experience
- Bachelors or Associates Degree in animal science, agriculture or related field preferred
- A minimum of two years experience in the agriculture field, preferably poultry and general knowledge of animal science and agriculture preferred
Communication Skills
- Must be able to read, write and comprehend the English language.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret training periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Physical Requirements / Environment
- Stand/Walk: Continuously
- Lift/Carry: Frequently (1-10 lbs), Occasionally (up to 30-45 lbs.)
- Other Physical Requirements:Continuously; working around moving machinery, in areas with marked changes in temperature and humidity.
