Some members of the Butterball team are rightfully moving up the chain, as the company recently has announced the promotion of two longstanding members of its operations team, appointing Neal Walsh as Chief Operating Officer and Bill Folk as Vice President of Operations.
In his role as Chief Operating Officer, Walsh aligns his focus with executing the company’s long-range operations plan and driving continuous improvement across its six turkey processing facilities, a press release stated. Walsh, who joined Butterball in 2007, has been an essential component of the company’s growth.
Walsh had held several roles within Butterball’s operations team, previously serving as Vice President of Operations in 2019, where he spearheaded a strong team with focus on internal and external customers and continued to advance the company’s operations.
As Walsh steps into his position as COO, Bill Folk will be taking his place as Vice President of Operations.
Folk was previously the Complex General Manager for Butterball’s processing facilities in Mount Olive, North Carolina, and Huntsville, Arkansas. In his new position, Folk will offer leadership for the company’s supply chain operational excellence team, as well as oversee all company processing operations, team member safety, food safety, and quality. Folk has been with Butterball since it was formed in 2006, and his experienced leadership promotes a culture of engagement, improvement, and innovation within the company, the press release noted.
“Bill and Neal share a passion for operational excellence that make them both natural fits for these leadership roles,” said President and Chief Executive Officer Jay Jandrain. “They have proven themselves to be incredibly valuable contributors to our organization. Neal has a notable track record for achieving major cost savings initiatives and efficiencies, while always keeping the desires of our customers and consumers top of mind, and Bill is well-recognized for his ability to develop team members and build the inclusive environment necessary to achieve success. I am incredibly confident in their abilities to lead our organization to continued growth and improvement.”
Congratulations to both Neal Walsh and Bill Folk on their recent promotions!
