Herbruck’s Poultry Ranch is using its expertise in the poultry industry to educate the next generation of agricultural leaders.
Educational sessions by Herbruck’s about the poultry industry and agriculture were given at Ionia High School and Saranac High School along with a virtual statewide presentation to Future Farmers of America members in May.
The presentations are part of Herbruck’s efforts to educate future generations of agricultural leaders and increase interest in working in the industry. Students received an overview of the Herbruck’s farm and learned about bird health, as well as heard from Herbruck’s leadership about careers in agriculture.
“At Herbruck’s, we take pride in educating future leaders and want them to see the agriculture industry as a great option for their future careers,” said Greg Herbruck, president of Herbruck’s. “Our workers are highly trained, make competitive wages, have free health care and use the most innovative technology in our industry to produce high quality products.”
Herbruck’s leadership was on hand to answer questions, provide information about working at Herbruck’s and in agriculture in today’s world.
“Educating students ties directly into our mission of sustainability,” Herbruck said. “By investing time in these students, we hope to contribute to the future of our industry by recruiting eager, intelligent talent that will sustain Michigan’s agriculture industry for years to come.”
Herbruck’s Poultry Ranch is a fourth-generation family farm based in Saranac. Herbruck’s is the largest egg producer in Michigan and has locations in Michigan, Indiana and Pennsylvania. For more information about Herbruck’s, visit www.herbrucks.com online.
