An electrical contractor working at the Foster Farms processing plant in southwest Fresno died in an accident Friday morning.
He was identified as 30-year-old Victor Gamez III of Corcoran.
Foster Farms said the accident happened at its facility at Cherry Avenue near Highway 41.
The cause of death was not immediately determined, the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office said. Foster Farms said its officials are working with the contractor’s company, law enforcement and an OSHA representative to investigate the death.
“We are saddened by this tragic death and extend our sympathy to the individual’s family and friends,” Foster Farms said in a statement.
It is the second death at the plant in a year.
