As part of its 100th anniversary, the Siloam Springs Rotary Club has awarded Mark Simmons, Chairman of the Board for Simmons Foods, with the inaugural Mark Simmons Service Above Self award. The award was presented October 21 at the Rotary Club’s 100-year celebration held at John Brown University.
The Service Above Self award is a testament to the Rotary Club’s mission to provide service to others. This award will be presented annually to a Rotarian who wholeheartedly serves their community and is continually putting people first.
“My dad has long been known for his service to others, including our Team Members, community members, and his family,” Todd Simmons, CEO of Simmons Foods, said. “He has always been a model of the Simmons core values, which aligns well with the Rotary Club mission to provide service to others and promote integrity.”
“With this milestone anniversary, we have been looking at the impact the Siloam Springs Rotary Club and its members have had on the community and those who have influenced that. Mark Simmons has been highly influential and set a great example for leading change in the community,” Dr. Delia Haak, State Representative for District 17 and Siloam Springs Rotary Club President-Elect, said. “Mark is a trusted leader who will always tell the truth and find solutions that benefit everyone, which is part of the Rotary Four-Way Test. He truly wants what is best for everyone.”
Dick Trammel, retired Arvest Bank executive, was also honored during the event with the Rotary Impact Award.
