Peco Foods, a prominent name in the poultry industry, has unveiled significant changes in its top-tier management. Notably, Steve Evans, the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO), is set to retire at the end of January, marking the conclusion of a remarkable 40-year journey in the poultry sector, with nearly four years dedicated to Peco Foods.

Joining Peco initially in a consultancy role in 2019, Evans ascended to the position of CCO by July 2020. Throughout his tenure, Evans has been lauded for his strategic foresight and invaluable contributions. Mark Hickman, Peco Foods’ President and CEO, expressed gratitude, saying, “Steve’s leadership has been instrumental in shaping our commercial strategies, positioning Peco Foods for sustained success.”

Evans, an alumnus of Georgia State University with advanced studies from the Wharton School and the Darden School of Business, has an illustrious career. His rich experience encompasses senior roles at Perdue Foods, a presidential tenure at Allen-Harim, and leadership stints at Cagles. Beyond Peco, Evans’ influence extended nationally, notably as a board member and past chair for the National Chicken Council (NCC) marketing committee and advisory roles at Salisbury University Perdue School of Business.

Reflecting on his career, Evans shared his confidence in Peco’s team, affirming, “The team I’m leaving behind will undoubtedly uphold Peco’s legacy of innovation and exceptional customer service.”

Stepping into Evans’ shoes is Kevin Phillips, another industry veteran boasting over 20 years in the poultry domain. Phillips, previously overseeing Peco’s commodity business as the corporate director of sales and marketing, is recognized for optimizing volumes and formulating competitive pricing strategies. Hickman expressed confidence in Phillips, stating, “Kevin’s profound industry knowledge and dedication to Peco Foods align seamlessly with our innovation-driven ethos.”

Simultaneously, Scott Alexander is set to embrace enhanced responsibilities, transitioning to the Senior Corporate Director of Sales and Marketing from his prior role as the corporate director of sales and marketing – value added. Hickman praised Alexander’s long-standing commitment since 1993, emphasizing his pivotal role in refining Peco’s value-added product portfolio.

In summary, these strategic transitions underline Peco Foods’ commitment to excellence, innovation, and growth in the poultry industry.
