In response to potential Listeria contamination, Pelleh Poultry Corp. has issued a recall for approximately 708 pounds of ready-to-eat (RTE) beef and poultry products. The recall, announced by the USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS), applies to items packaged between October 25 and November 20, bearing the establishment number “EST. P44121” within the USDA mark of inspection. The affected products were distributed to retail and institutional establishments in New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania.

The recall was initiated after the establishment’s laboratory tests raised concerns about the presence of Listeria monocytogenes in the products. As of the latest update, there have been no reported cases of adverse reactions associated with the consumption of these items.

Consumers are strongly advised to check their purchases for the establishment number mentioned and, if identified, refrain from consuming the products. Instead, return them to the place of purchase or dispose of them properly. It is also essential to remain vigilant for any symptoms of Listeria infection, including fever, muscle aches, headache, stiff neck, confusion, loss of balance, and convulsions. Seeking prompt medical attention if any symptoms arise is crucial.

To stay informed about product recalls and food safety alerts, consumers can contact the USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service or the establishment where the product was purchased. Prioritizing safety and awareness is key to ensuring the health and well-being of individuals and families.
