Potential Listeria Contamination Prompts Recall of Chicken Street Taco Meal Kits

In response to growing concerns over potential Listeria monocytogenes contamination, Rizo-López Foods and Fresh Creations Foods have issued a voluntary recall of their Chicken Street Taco Meal Kits, in collaboration with the FDA.

The affected products, featuring a crema cup containing a recalled cheese ingredient, were distributed to Sprouts stores in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, and Tennessee.

Identified by UPC 205916414990 and “Best by” dates spanning from November 29 to March 4, these meal kits are subject to the recall. While no illnesses have been reported, ongoing investigations by the FDA, CDC, and local health authorities are examining cases of Listeria monocytogenes infections linked to queso fresco and cotija cheeses produced by Rizo-López Foods as part of a widespread, multi-year outbreak.
