The University of Arkansas’ System Division of Agriculture will study ways to reduce greenhouse gas emissions produced by poultry feed production, thanks to a grant recently awarded by USDA. The university will measure greenhouse gas emissions on farms that cultivate corn and soybeans to find if conventional tillage or conservation tillage is better for the environment. The USDA Climate-Smart commodities program is backing the research, and the grant will fund the study for at least three years.
