The USPOULTRY Foundation has awarded student recruiting grants totaling $306,366 to six universities with poultry science departments and 22 other institutions with industry-related programs. The grants are part of USPOULTRY Foundation’s annual funding of recruiting and retention efforts to colleges and universities to attract or connect students to their poultry programs or the poultry industry, the association said in a news release. The student grants were made possible by gifts to the USPOULTRY Foundation from such companies as Tyson Foods Inc., Sanderson Farms and Perdue Farms, in addition to individuals, families and funds from the International Poultry Expo.
